Planning Specialist
ECRI Institute, Plymouth Meeting, PA

ECRI Institute, a non-profit independent health research organization in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, is seeking an entry-level healthcare/capital equipment procurement professional to provide medical technology decision support, procurement services, and logistical support to healthcare institutions relative to new construction and renovation projects. Travel requirements: estimated at 30%.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • review and update medical equipment lists;
  • research technologies to address client challenges;
  • contact device manufacturers for quotes and technical data;
  • create and issue requests to purchase; and
  • assist with delivery management and project closeout.
Requirements: Associates degree (Bachelor’s preferred) with 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment or healthcare purchasing environment. Highlights of additional skills that are required include:
  • medical equipment capital planning, budgeting and procurement experience is required;
  • strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus;
  • excellent written and verbal communications;
  • independent problem-solving and decision making skills;
  • ability to multitask with attention to detail and to meet competing deadlines;
  • proficiency in web-based applications and MS Office 2007+, especially EXCEL
  • experience with hospital-focused materials management information systems preferred.
  • ability to travel (approximately 30%).
